Confined Space Attendant Training Course Information

Our Confined Space Attendant training includes a review of confined space regulations, the duties of a confined space attendant, confined space documentation, atmospheric monitoring, emergency response and an evaluation.

  • Internal and External Hazards Associated with Confined Space Work Atmospheric Monitoring
  • Principles of Air Monitoring
  • Selection and Function of Proper Monitoring 
  • Equipment Documentation of Monitor Readings
  • Intermittent vs. Continuous Testing During Hot Work Practices
  • Mechanical Ventilation Operation/Monitoring Emergency Response
  • Order to Evacuate / Order to Stop Work Rescue Plan
  • Radio and Phone Protocol
  • Comprehension of Risk Assessment Evaluation
  • 100% attendance and participation is mandatory and vital to your success in this program.
  • Students must receive 80% or higher on the written exam.
  • Practical competency with atmospheric monitoring equipment.

Legislation

Our Confined Space Attendant training program includes Provincial and Federal legislation, all applicable Regulations ( O.Reg. 632/05 Confined Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations Part XI Confined Spaces), definitions and terms with respect to Confined Spaces. Recognize or identify a confined space (O. Reg. 95/11, s. 4.) Assess the confined space hazards (O. Reg. 632/05, s. 6 (1).) The course material is based on current OHSA information and best practices.

  • Any workers who will be acting as an attendant during confined space work.

Course Benefits

The course includes both theoretical and practical training. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion.
