Basic Rigging Fundamentals Training

Many worksites will require practical, site- specific training (in addition to theory training) before a worker is certified to operate machinery.

This rigging fundamentals course equips participants with an understanding of industry regulations and standards as well as the ability to recognize the proper rigging equipment for the applicable load and basic rigging calculations.

Legislation

Rigging Training is required by Occupational Health and Safety. OHS Regulations state that any worker who is required or permitted to assemble, use, maintain or dismantle rigging is trained in safe rigging practices. The course curriculum reviews applicable requirements under the Construction Regulation 213/91 and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ontario R.R.O 1990, Regulation 854 Mines and Mining Plants.
